Your role

Are you an experienced and motivated Solution Architect Do you enjoy creating meaningful solutions and making a real difference with your work?

UBS is seeking to strengthen the Digital Core Services Solution Architecture and Engineering Function, and are therefore looking for an experienced solution architect to:

• work alongside the delivery crews to define and design the future technical architecture of our application stack
• champion modern software design patterns, mentor and influence development teams in the adoption of technologies such as: SOA and mSOA, event-based architecture, TDD/BDD and Data Virtualization
• ensure that software is designed and delivered in line with both stream and departmental target state and current best practices
• act as an interface between the delivery crews and the CTO function
• actively seek to simplify and modernize the technology footprint across Digital Core Services (DCS)

Your team

You’ll be working in the stream solution architecture team based in our Weehawken office. Our team makes sure that as a business we get the most out of our technology investment by collaborating with colleagues, delivering on projects and outlining the technical roadmap using our combined knowledge. As an IT solution architect, you’ll play an important role in making sure we achieve both business and technology objectives.

Your expertise

• proven, hands on development background, utilizing an object orientated language (C#, Java, C++) and Test-Driven Development (TDD)
• experience in thought leadership through the development lifecycle, including the coaching and mentoring of development teams
• multi-year, real world (‘hands on’) experience of agile, including Scrum and Kanban and the real-world application from prioritization through to delivery
• experience of the design and implementation of: Service/Micro-Service architectures, event-based architectures, loosely coupled systems and re-usable components, system and enterprise architecture
• clear experience, ideally over a number of years, in a trading-based organization (hedge fund, asset manager, investment bank) – with knowledge of financial instruments and terminology
• wide-reaching interest and knowledge of technology and its practical use, including legacy languages and patterns, and current/future state languages, technologies and patterns
• bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or math, engineering or a related field

Salary information

CA, CO, WA and NY based roles: The salary range for this role is $200,000 to $275,000 based on experience, education, and skill level. This role may be eligible for discretionary incentive compensation. For benefits information: ubs.com/usbenefits.
